While summer is generally a time for rest and relaxation, for Orange Lutheran, this summer is a time for extensive building improvements, training and professional development, and innovative planning for what we are sure will prove to be the best year ever. Construction for the following areas is on target to be complete before the start of the school year: six new state of the art Science Labs, meeting space for Student Activities, our Missions Program, two tutoring centers, a Lancer Logo Shop, as well as a new Admissions Office, Faculty and Staff Lounge, and additional office space for faculty, coaches, and administration.
We are looking forward to highlighting specifics about our facility improvements, additional future building plans, technology integration, and new innovative Lancer learning opportunities at Back-To-School Night on Thursday, September 1 beginning at 6:00 p.m. You will also be reminded of how Orange Lutheran is unlike any other high school, a place where each student and family is valued and appreciated for their unique gifts, talents, abilities and for their commitment and dedication to being a part of the Lancer family.
This year, we welcome three new teachers, Mr. Andrew Mabry, who will teach in our Social Studies Department, Mr. Dennis Lin, who will teach in our Science Department, and Mrs. Dawn Hamby, who will teach in our Visual Arts Department. We also welcome alumni Mr. Steve Barillier to our Counseling & College Planning Department as we continue to offer unparalleled individualized student support.
For the 2011-2012 school year, the Senior Class selected the theme, “Be Strong and Courageous” based on Joshua 1:9: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." As we eagerly prepare for the new school year, we seek His strength and find courage in His unfailing love knowing that He is with us always. By His Spirit, we pray that God will work in our hearts faith and that in His Son’s perfect sacrifice, that He will lead us in lives of faithful service to Him. In times of difficulty and uncertainty, may we find strength and courage knowing that Jesus gives us a permanent peace the world cannot give.
It is my great joy and true blessing to serve as your principal!
In His Love,
Mrs. Leslie Smith, M.Ed., Principal
